Use Case 1 – Digital Optimisation Tools for Greener Operations - The first use case focuses on developing optimisation tools tailored to Migros’ current delivery operations. These tools aim both to improve the environmental performance of existing processes and to prepare the integration of cargo bikes into the company’s delivery schemes. By adopting dedicated cycle-logistics digital tools, Migros will shift its instant food deliveries from motorbikes to cargo bikes, reducing emissions while maintaining rapid delivery times.

Use Case 2 – Real-Time Load Pooling for Planned Deliveries - The second use case centres on ICT tools supporting Migros’ planned time-slot deliveries. A load-pooling solution developed by Sivas Cumhuriyet University will be tested to enable real-time optimisation of tour planning, allowing multiple orders to be consolidated onto a single vehicle. This approach enhances operational efficiency and reduces the environmental footprint of scheduled deliveries.

Use Case 3 – Shared Urban Logistics Hub on Public Land - The third use case focuses on fostering collaboration between logistics service providers and public authorities through the creation of a shared logistics hub on public ground. Migros will work alongside Iletmen, another logistics operator active in the city, to share the hub’s facilities, while the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality will provide an appropriate site for its installation. Additional services—such as electric charging stations and parcel lockers—will be implemented to support a wide range of stakeholders and encourage more sustainable urban logistics.
