THE CIVITAS CLUSTER
DECARBOMILE, GREEN-LOG and URBANE are co-funded Horizon Europe projects. We form a cluster focused on the take-up and upscale of innovative, safe and sustainable last-mile delivery solutions. We aim to facilitate lesson learning and sharing at the European level, notably through the CIVITAS Initiative.
GREEN-LOG is a Horizon Europe co-funded project which will develop Logistics-as-a service platforms for interconnected city logistics, automated delivery concepts using autonomous vehicles and delivery droids, cargo-bike-based innovations for sustainable micro-consolidation, and multimodal parcel deliveries integrating public transportation.

TRA Conference 2026
The Transport Research Arena (TRA) is Europe’s flagship transport research and innovation conference. It is the largest European conference of its kind, covering all transport modes and mobility aspects. This year, the conference took place in Budapest on May 18-21, at the Hungexpo Budapest Congress and Exhibition Centre.
DECRABOMILE joined the ALICE Logistics Innovation Village, more specifically its “Urban Logistics neighbourhood”, alongside other European projects focusing on urban logistics and transport.
Representing DECARBOMILE, Pauline Buosi (Interface Transport) and Katharina Beck (Hamburg University of Technology) presented DECARBOMILE project and its results. Showcasing our solutions opened up great conversations about sustainable urban logistics with researchers, practitioners and policymakers from across Europe present on the spot. Furthermore, Isabella Hauswald (Copenhagen Business School) presented her work during the session on ‘Innovation in Last-Mile Delivery Operations’.

TRA 2024 – ALICE
ALICE is one of the co-organizers of the next Transport Research Arena, which was held from 15-18 April 2024, in Dublin at the RDS Centre! In the exhibition area, 12-14 projects populated the ALICE Innovation Village! Our stand was located close to the European Commission’s stand, ERTRAC’s, CCAM’s & other Partners. We have presented our 4 Living Labs and their progress in implementing full scale urban logistics adapted to local contexts (social, economic, legal, environmental). We’ve also showcased our satellites that follow the Living Labs in common effort.
Urban Mobility Days 2023
Our team, Manon Levrey from Interface Transport (coordinator), Katharina Beck and @Christopher Rahlf from Hamburg University of Technology (evaluation lead), Javier Esquillor from capillar IT (leading the open framework for integration) and Isabel Froes from Copenhagen Business School (leading activities with local stakeholders on developing viable business models), have been making remarkable contributions to the DECARBOMILE project, fostering valuable partnerships and driving innovation in the field of sustainable urban logistics and freight transport.
